Tatenda Bwawa

Tatenda Bwawa came to the MDP program from Mutare, Zimbabwe.  She completed her university studies in the United States, where she obtained an Associate of Science degree in Accounting from Hiwassee College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Lambuth University.  Tatenda's graduate work includes a Master of Public Health and a Graduate Certificate in Health Care Management from East Tennessee State University.

Tatenda interned at a variety of institutions including, working for the American Heart Association in New York, where she planned and organized the ‘Go Red For Women' luncheons,  an event held annually to raise awareness and strategize on issues around combating heart disease in women.

Tatenda also advocated for federal US policies in conjunction with the American Heart Association and is the recipient of the 2011 International Development Research Centre Scholarship. Tatenda’s development interests include global health, and gender equality. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, fashion, and cooking.
