About:

Patricia Robertson came to Winnipeg from the Yukon as the 2015 – 16 writer-in-residence at the Millennium Public Library.

Born in the United Kingdom, she grew up in British Columbia and received her MA in Creative Writing from Boston University.

Robertson’s first collection of fiction, City of Orphans, was shortlisted for the BC Book Prizes for Fiction. Her stories and essays have also been nominated for the Journey Prize, the Pushcart Prize, and the National Magazine Awards.

She has served as writer-in-residence at institutions across Canada and is a longtime creative writing instructor, mentor, and workshop leader. Robertson is also a professional editor and a member of Editors Canada.
