About:

Kenneth Meadwell, Professor Emeritus of French Studies (BA Honours (First Class Honours), MA, PhD), has been an Invited Professor of Canadian Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, la Universidad de La Laguna, and Duke University.

He is a specialist in alterity/otherness in literature; literary theory; and 19th and 20th century literature of French Canada. He has also published ground-breaking research on the Québec novelist Réjean Ducharme.

Meadwell's PhD work took him to Paris where he explored l'école sémiotique de Paris, "la narratologie", and the Parisian café scene. He continues his research into world literature dealing with alterity/otherness; contemporary poetry written in French; the role of humanities during the third millenium; and the appellation of "Paris", as it relates to La Ville Lumière, Buenos Aires, and Beirut.

"Carpe diem" is his motto.
